About Me
My name is Anuska Rabe-Steynberg, and I am a registered educational psychologist. I have a passion for working with children, adolescents and young adults.

I started my academic career at Stellenbosch University, where I first obtained my BA Language and Culture degree. I then completed my Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) (cum laude), and after that, I completed my BEd Honours in Educational Psychology (cum laude). Finally, I obtained my Masters in Educational Psychology (MEdPsych) degree (cum laude) from Stellenbosch University.

I was also a high school Afrikaans Home Language, Afrikaans First Additional Language and English First Additional Language teacher for grades 8 to 12, respectively. My career as an educational psychologist started in the school setting. I completed my internship at a reputable special school in the Western Cape, and it was here where I developed a special interest in working with children and adolescents with special educational needs and barriers to learning.

I work collaboratively with various roleplayers (e.g., parents, teachers, schools, and other professionals in the pediatric, occupational and speech- and language domains) to develop interventions suited for the individual client. I favour an integrated methodology and approach to address any challenges the client may face. I am fully bilingual and can conduct assessments and therapy in Afrikaans and English.

As a mother, I understand the importance of teaching our children coping skills that will help them prosper in life and providing adequate support for them to spread their wings. I strive to embody the words of Rita Pierson: “Every child deserves a champion: an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists they become the best they can possibly be.”
